News and Stories

Michael McLaughin of Unite4Kids has started a new blog, which we would encourage our readers to follow. Michael has been a long-term supporter of Family Resource Center and is doing great work over at Unite4Kids. His first post – Should I Report Abuse? – has great information.

Unite4Kids is a child advocacy group that provides clothing, educational resources, and job placement assistance to at-risk youth.   Unite4Kids was founded by Michael McLaughlin in 2012  after he completed Hike4Kids, a record-breaking cross-country journey that raised $15,000 for abused and neglected children.  Wanting to build off the momentum generated by the hike, Michael founded Unite4Kids to help meet the basic needs of underprivileged children and youth in the St. Louis area.  Since that time, Unite4Kids has provided clothes for teens living in poverty, financial literacy workshops for kids aging out of foster care, and employment for at-risk youth so they can successfully transition to independent living.
