Adoption Specialist

FamilyForward (the newly merged entity of Children’s Home Society of Missouri and Family Resource Center) is seeking an Adoption Specialist. FamilyForward leads the community in providing innovative solutions for advancing safer, healthier relationships for children and families. The agency provides therapy, coaching and education, foster care and adoption, trauma assessment and psychological evaluation, therapeutic preschool, and care for children with developmental disabilities.

The Adoption Specialist provides adoption management services for children who cannot return to their parents with a primary focus on permanency and safety for the child. The position coordinates the needs of the adoptive child with the Family Case Manager. Identify and coordinate linkages for the child and potential adoptive family with other community resources. Assist in the search and qualification of potential adoptive families. Provide training for potential adoptive parents and required assessments. Attend all required meetings and complete all necessary data entry and reports in a timely manner. This position is based at our South St. Louis City site.

Education and/or Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with major specialization (24 hours) in such areas as social work, family and child development, special education, psychology, sociology, gerontology or related behavioral sciences. Minimum of one year of professional employment in the delivery of protective social services, family preservation services, or targeted case management services in a public or private agency. Demonstrated experience as a positive contributor in a close team and community resource mobilization.

Resource Development/Adoption and Foster Care Unit Secretary

FamilyForward has an opening for a full-time Unit Secretary. The Unit Secretary will provide secretarial assistance to Licensing/Resource Development, Foster Care, and Adoption teams. This is a full-time position that splits time between the Foster Care team and Resource Development team. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory supplies, compiling monthly statistics, maintaining current versions of internal and state forms, generating reports, and assisting in the creation and updating of a newsletter. This position is based at our South St. Louis City site.

Qualifications: Minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Excel). Good people skills and ability to handle deadline situations. Detail oriented and production of high quality materials.

Education and/or Experience: High school education or GED. One year of secretarial experience.

Transportation: Must be available to work at all FamilyForward sites.

Family Treatment Therapist

FamilyForward has a full-time Therapist opening in our Family Treatment program. The Therapist will provide individual and family therapy to children and their caretakers in in a variety of settings including, home, office, and school. Presenting problems include families where child abuse/neglect or violence has occurred. The position involves working as a member of the agency clinical team utilizing the evidence-based interventions Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma or Conduct Problems (MATCH). This is a grant position and continued employment of this position is dependent upon the funding of this grant. These family-based treatment approaches provide trauma treatment, behavioral skills training, parenting education, and relationship building. Resource referral and coordination is provided.

The full-time Therapist carries a caseload of approximately 15-20 families. The Therapist will provide direct services of crisis intervention and professional individual and family therapy to all clients as well as provide indirect client services. For a minimum of 40 hours each week, the Therapist will serve clients involving the treatment of child and adolescent victims of abuse and their non-offending family members. This position is based at our South St. Louis City site.

Supervisory Responsibilities: May provide field instructor supervision to a graduate social work/counseling student.

Education and/or Experience: Minimum of Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other relevant helping profession.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: State of Missouri Licensure as Counselor, Social Worker, or Licensed Psychologist required.

Direct Support Staff

FamilyForward (the newly merged entity of Children’s Home Society of Missouri and Family Resource Center) is seeking full-time and part-time Direct Support Staff. FamilyForward leads the community in providing innovative solutions for advancing safer, healthier relationships for children and families. The agency provides therapy, coaching and education, foster care and adoption, trauma assessment and psychological evaluation, therapeutic preschool, and care for children with developmental disabilities.

Certified Nurse Assistant preferred but not required. High school diploma required and experience in customer service or the healthcare field. Duties include providing personal care, which includes bathing, diapering, dressing, undressing, feeding and hygiene of residents; turning or re-positioning bedfast patients to prevent bedsores. Records vitals, observations, visitors, and any other information requested by the Charge Nurse on each shift. Immediately reports resident health care problems to the Charge Nurse. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and complete a background check and drug screening. The Direct Support Staff positions are located at FamilyForward’s Brentwood and St. Charles sites.

Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

FamilyForward leads the community in providing innovative solutions for advancing safer, healthier relationships for children and families. The agency provides therapy, coaching and education, foster care and adoption, trauma assessment and psychological evaluation, therapeutic preschool, and care for children with developmental disabilities.

Duties include but are not limited to: assessing the health and medical needs of children, performing all medical procedures and treatments (such as G-tube and NG-tube feeding, tracheotomy care, dressing changes, PPD, PROM, application and removal of splints, etc. Reviewing, administering, and charting all medications ordered. Preparing written reports, nursing notes, client charts, and goal charts. Experience working with children with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required. FamilyForward provides integrated and coordinated care to children and their families struggling with issues related to childhood abuse and neglect. The Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse positions are located at FamilyForward’s Brentwood and St. Charles sites.

Part-Time Graphic Designer

The part-time Graphic Designer is responsible for developing and executing the graphic design, branding, and digital media graphics as directed by the Marketing and Communications Manager and organizational strategic plan. Responsibilities include developing all external and internal digital media graphics to complement communications that support and sustain agency activities, maintaining the agency brand guidelines, and producing print materials, signage, and templates. The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and be able to maintain harmonious working relationships with employees and volunteers at all levels of the organization.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum three years professional experience in print and digital graphic design in the field of non-profit communications, public affairs, education, social and human services, or related area. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with HTML, WordPress, and email marketing programs. Excellent spoken and written English required.

Therapeutic Preschool Van Driver

FamilyForward has an opening for a Therapeutic Preschool Van Driver. The part-time position provides transportation of children from home to the Therapeutic Preschool, from the Therapeutic Preschool to planned outings or field trips, and then back home. In addition, the Therapeutic Preschool Van Driver will assist children on and off the vehicle.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:15 am to 9:15 am and 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

Education and/or Experience: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Valid CPR and First Aid certification. Excellent driving record and experience operating a van.

Transportation: Possession of a valid Missouri Class E driver’s license and valid automobile insurance required.

PathBuilders Family Coach

The PathBuilders Family Coach will deliver mental health and wraparound services to families faced with stressors such as safety, shelter, unemployment, and parenting. The PathBuilders Family Coach will be a member of a multi-agency team utilizing evidence-based practices that were specifically selected for use with families. These practices draw heavily on crisis intervention, system family theory, behavioral skills, training, parent and family life education, and resource services coordination. The PathBuilders Family Coach has excellent communication and organizational skills; is a supportive, caring individual; and works under the guidance and direction of the PathBuilders Supervisor.

The PathBuilders Family Coach carries a caseload of 12 families for approximately 18-24 months. Emergency availability is provided to families via mobile phone. Additionally, this position will provide service and support to high-risk, multiple problem families and parents who are in need of support and resource acquisition services.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in areas such as crisis intervention, family therapy, community resource mobilization, and prevention/treatment. Work experiences with social services, school systems, juvenile courts, public and private agencies. A plus to possess life experience or abilities as a successful parent. Must have the commitment and ability to communicate with and help parents/youth who are experiencing problems; have the ability to organize time efficiently; and the ability to work effectively as part of a team with a wide cross section of individuals/organizations.

Other Qualifications: Resourcing, coordinating with other agencies, strong advocacy skills, and computer skills in Microsoft Office.
