Family Support Partner

FamilyForward (the newly merged entity of Children’s Home Society of Missouri and Family Resource Center) is seeking a full-time Family Support Partner with social work or counseling licensure or provisional licensure in the State of Missouri to join our team. FamilyForward leads the community in providing innovative solutions for advancing safer, healthier relationships for children and families. The agency provides therapy, coaching and education, foster care and adoption, trauma assessment and psychological evaluation, therapeutic preschool, and care for children with developmental disabilities.

The position provides counseling, psychoeducation, coaching, and case management for families of children from birth through age 19, who have experienced or are at high risk for abuse, neglect or trauma, and who have an eligible Missouri Department of Mental Health developmental disability diagnosis. The Family Support Partner will meet with families in their homes or preferred location, and use trauma-informed approaches to increase knowledge of positive parenting, improve relationships between children and caregivers, reduce mental health symptoms, and promote resiliency. An ideal candidate will have two to three years experience working with children and families, particularly with developmental disabilities, and be able to handle multiple clients while meeting agency goals and deadlines. Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or other relevant helping profession required.

Foster Care Case Manager

FamilyForward has an opening for a Foster Care Case Manager in Jefferson County. The position provides case management services for children who are entering, re-entering or currently are in out-of-home care through the successful placement, stabilization, and utilization of services for the children and their families, with a primary focus on permanency and safety for the child. This position is based at our Hillsboro site.

Education and/or Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with major specialization (24 hours) in such areas as social work, psychology, counseling, or criminology. Minimum of three years of professional employment in the delivery of protective social services, family preservation services, or targeted case management services in a public or private agency. Demonstrated experience as a positive contributor in a close team and community relationship, and with community resource mobilization.

Family Reunification Specialist

FamilyForward has an opening for a Family Reunification Specialist. The position works as part of a multi-disciplinary public child welfare team and provides direct, intensive in-home services to children and families when children are transitioning from foster care or other out-of-home placements. The Family Reunification Specialist works within the family and team system using a comprehensive, strengths-based approach that addresses safety and well-being. The position completes risk assessment, crisis intervention, parenting education, assists families with access to community resources in order to reduce barriers and promote safe, healthy relationships for children living within their family system. Due to the intensity of services provided by the Family Reunification Specialist, the case load is smaller and intensive services are provided for a limited time as designated by contract. This position is based at our South St. Louis City site.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling or a comparable human services field and three years experience working with children and families required or Master’s degree in social work, counseling or human services (MSW preferred) and two years experience working with children and families.

Therapeutic Preschool Teacher

The Therapeutic Preschool Teacher provides psychoeducational treatment services to preschool age children who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, and developmental problems, and who have experienced trauma such as abuse/neglect or family violence victimization. Work as a member of FamilyForward’s Therapeutic Preschool program team to provide a structured therapeutic milieu to promote remediation of developmental delays and resolution of children’s behavioral problem, which have resulted from their victimization or neglect. Methodology of the treatment approach involves a highly structured therapeutic classroom based upon trauma informed cognitively oriented early child education and behavior skills training, and individual play therapy. This position is based at our South St. Louis City site.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, social work, or related discipline. Professional knowledge of child therapy, child development, early childhood developmental problems, parent-child relationships, and child abuse/neglect victimization and family dynamics. Professional experience communicating therapeutically with young children to resolve emotional and behavioral problems, and with parents/families to strengthen healthy parenting relationships.

Receptionist/Secretary

The Receptionist/Secretary is responsible for performing a variety of general office duties such as client service, data entry, requisition of supplies, secretarial services, mail services, public relations, correspondence, and word processing. The individual will also provide administrative support to all functions within the agency. his position is based at our Creve Coeur site.

Essential Duties: Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in-person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. Provides administrative support to all agency areas including: developing and maintaining record-keeping systems, databases/spreadsheets, and preparing special and recurring reports, as needed. Assists in the coordination of agency activities including meetings, conferences, workshops, and special events. Order, receive, and maintain general office supplies and postage. Prepare, sort, and process mail. Log and record cash receipts and donations. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintains safe and clean receptionist area. Perform other administrative duties as needed by management staff, such as filing, photocopying, and collating. Run errands, as required.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma, business/trade school graduate preferred. Minimum one to two years experience in an administrative support position within an office environment. Understanding of proper telephone technique. Knowledge of professional office procedures. Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook.

Clinical Psychologist

The full-time provisionally licensed or provisionally licensed eligible Clinical Psychologist will join our multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive assessment for and treatment to highly vulnerable children and their families. A successful candidate will have experience in evaluating children and adolescents, well developed writing skills, and a strong interest in team collaboration. Training and supervision will be provided to aid in expanding your knowledge of the assessment and treatment of developmental trauma. Therapeutic Preschool Educational Therapist

The Educational Therapist position involves program coordination of the classroom duties and supervision of the classroom staff of FamilyForward’s Therapeutic Preschool program. The program is designed to provide psychoeducational treatment to preschool age children (three to five years of age) who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, and developmental problems, and who have experienced child abuse/neglect victimization and/or are at-risk. Methodology of the treatment approach includes a highly structured therapeutic classroom milieu based upon the evidence-based classroom curriculum, HighScope; cognitively oriented early childhood education; behavior skills training; and individual and group play therapy. Implementation of HighScope curriculum is on-going, with fidelity to the model. This position is based at our South St. Louis City site.

Education and/or Experience: Minimum of Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or other relevant helping profession. Crisis intervention, family therapy, community resource mobilization, and treatment/prevention. Work experiences with social services, school systems, juvenile courts, and public and private agencies. Demonstrated experience as a positive contributor in a close team and community relationship. Experience/skills in providing clinical supervision and program management functions. Trained in the HighScope curriculum.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: State of Missouri Licensure as Counselor, Social Worker, or Licensed Psychologist required.

Resource Development/Adoption and Foster Care Unit Secretary

FamilyForward has an opening for a full-time Unit Secretary. The Unit Secretary will provide secretarial assistance to Licensing/Resource Development, Foster Care, and Adoption teams. This is a full-time position that splits time between the Foster Care team and Resource Development team. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory supplies, compiling monthly statistics, maintaining current versions of internal and state forms, generating reports, and assisting in the creation and updating of a newsletter. This position is based at our South St. Louis City site.

Qualifications: Minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Excel). Good people skills and ability to handle deadline situations. Detail oriented and production of high quality materials.

Education and/or Experience: High school education or GED. One year of secretarial experience.

Direct Support Staff

The agency provides therapy, coaching and education, foster care and adoption, trauma assessment and psychological evaluation, therapeutic preschool, and care for children with developmental disabilities.

Certified Nurse Assistant preferred but not required. High school diploma required and experience in customer service or the healthcare field. Duties include providing personal care, which includes bathing, diapering, dressing, undressing, feeding and hygiene of residents; turning or re-positioning bedfast patients to prevent bedsores. Records vitals, observations, visitors, and any other information requested by the Charge Nurse on each shift. Immediately reports resident health care problems to the Charge Nurse. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and complete a background check and drug screening. The Direct Support Staff positions are located at FamilyForward’s Brentwood and St. Charles sites.

Duties include but are not limited to: assessing the health and medical needs of children, performing all medical procedures and treatments (such as G-tube and NG-tube feeding, tracheotomy care, dressing changes, PPD, PROM, application and removal of splints, etc. Reviewing, administering, and charting all medications ordered. Preparing written reports, nursing notes, client charts, and goal charts. Experience working with children with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required. FamilyForward provides integrated and coordinated care to children and their families struggling with issues related to childhood abuse and neglect. The Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse positions are located at FamilyForward’s Brentwood and St. Charles sites.
