2009 Shop an Angel/Shop for a Teen Angel Project

Shop for an Angel
Thanks to the generosity of donors, 744 children received gifts from FRC's annual Shop for an Angel program, held in December. Each child receives a primary gift, 2 books, a stuffed animal, mittens and a hat, and a small stocking stuffer toy. Families with more than one child also received a game or puzzle for all of them to enjoy.

We are so thankful for the many organizations and individuals that took time out of their busy schedules to buy toys or make donations. Donations are accepted throughout the year, so please remember to "shop for an angel" this year.

Shop for a Teen Angel
One of the highlights of the year at FRC was the sight of the hallways stuffed with bags of new, stylish clothing for the 100 teenagers in the new Shop for a Teen Angel program. The program was started this year when it was discovered that teenagers in FRC's Foster Care program didn't have the basic clothes they needed.

The clothing was a huge hit among the teens, and it wouldn't have been possible without the generosity of many kind donors.

The gratitude of the teens was expressed again and again to their case managers:

"All of my teens were so shocked at the items they were given. They could not believe the amount of stylish fashions they received!"

"He was very excited about the sweater he received because it matched his hat. He liked it so much that he had to try on the sweater immediately to show it off."

"My daughter has worn the Hello Kitty pjs so much I had to make her wash them, and she had them back on as soon as they were out of the laundry."
